The year 2009 can be considered in the eyes of many as the "Year of the Fox."Superstar actress Megan Fox burst onto the scene in 2009 and quickly became one of the hottest females in the entire world, as well as being drooled over and downloaded by obsessed males from every age group. Fox's popularity rose when she was profiled in a six-page interview in the June 2009 issue of Esquire magazine as well as a profile piece in Rolling Stone.

But in all reality, Fox wasn't and isn't a big deal. "I've got this wild, crazy reputation," Fox said in the Rolling Stone article. "There's a difference between being very sexual and being promiscuous. I'm not promiscuous. I'm extraordinarily sexual within a monogamous relationship. Nothing's off-limits."So really, what's the major deal with Megan Fox then? I mean, she's just another actress who wants nothing more than fame, fortune and good looks, yet she gets drooled over by many males across the planet. Would we, as a culture, give this same attention to Jamie Lee Curtis or Julia Roberts? Most likely not.

Personally, I think she's a cancer for most women and girls out there looking for role models to look up to because looks can't help you in life. Of course, you also need the skills and the brains to back looks up.

Being an actress isn't rocket science, but it also isn't like checking your e-mail on a daily basis. No one held a gun to her head and said she had to be a sexual being; she made that choice herself to be sexual for millions of men across the planet.

"I don't want to have to go on talk shows and pull out every single S.A.T. word I've ever learned to prove, like, 'Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak.' But I do. And part of it is my own fault," Fox said in the same Rolling Stone article.

All I ask is that people out there take women more seriously and to not judge them based on stereotypes or preconceived notions that women can't be sexy and smart at the same time because they can.

So, what brings women like this so much popularity and attention?

I think it's the thrill of the chase. Women in Hollywood play hard to get. They want men who drool over them on a daily basis to prove to them that they are successful. Though, this type of chase after someone like Megan Fox is usually a distorted fantasy.

Most have no knowledge of these women and have no idea how much sacrifice - if any - she makes to be successful.

It is doubtful many men want someone like Fox because she is an amazing actress - which she is not.

She is attractive and presents simply another "notch on the belt."

Will we ever have an answer to the question of the "Fox Propaganda" explaining her fame based almost solely on her looks and minimal talent?

Perhaps it is a mystery that almost solves itself.
