Megan Fox To Play: ‘the next hot thing’: At one time, Megan Fox seemed like she was going to be ‘the next hot thing’ in Hollywood. She had the looks and she was hooked up with the popular Transformers franchise, but the rising star lost her sparkle somewhere along the way, as highlighted by the news from Huffington Post that reveals her new film will only have a limited theatrical release.

The movie is Passion Play and it can make people start to wonder if the Armani girl really is seen as the kiss of box-office death. In addition to Fox, the film also stars Mickey Rourke and Bill Murrary, two names that usually do pretty well on the big screen. This time around, it looked they were headed down the ‘direct-to-DVD’ route until Image Entertainment recently announced, “Passion Play will begin its theatrical roll-out in New York and Los Angeles and will follow with a platform release strategy.”Just in case you didn’t know, “platform release strategy” is a pretty Hollywood way of saying ‘headed to DVD.

Of course, Fox might not deserve all the fallout for Passion Play because it does seem like a rather odd movie. In the film, a washed-up trumpet player (Rourke) falls for a girl with wings (Fox) at a carnival. Bill Murray plays a sleazy gangster who looks more like an accountant that somehow gets involved in things.

Check out this clip, which really doesn’t do much except make the show look really bad or take a look at this video gallery that actually shows a little potential. The movie starts its limited run on May 6th, just in case you want to catch it on the big screen and happen to be around one of the theaters showing it. It should be available on DVD on March 31st if you’re able to wait that long.
